Our cabin is a ranch style home with all the modern conveniences. The area is quiet, close to convenience and yet nature abounds! If you like to explore, there are many easy hiking and four wheel drive trails nearby. National forest access is less than a mile away. Excellent fishing is within minutes. Casinos, shopping and nightlife are a short drive. This place is a perfect summer retreat for folks wanting to experience Colorado mountain living, enjoy nature and/or escape the heat. Pike National Forest - surrounds the cabin. This is where you can play to your heart's content. Check this site for all the possibilities-- fishing, hiking, camping - anywhere!, hunting, ATV/4WD trails, and much more. It is a playground for anyone who enjoys the outdoors!

Colorado Fishing Report. In addition, in the left hand navigation of this site, there is a Stocking Report, which can really help you find a good place to go. Eleven Mile Canyon is a world-class fly fishing area and has some beautiful campsites. Google "Eleven Mile Canyon" or Eleven Mile State Park. The canyon is within minutes... actually right over Blue Mountain from our cabin. For those who have forest service maps FR 878 can get you to 875 which takes you to the opening of the canyon if you want to 4-wheel it. Or, its accessible right off of highway 24. The reservoir is a little more of a drive. Other good fishing in the area - Tarryall, Skaguay, Manitou Lake, Spinney etc.. Really top end trout areas! But, spend the time to research and talk to the locals about current conditions!
Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is 5 minutes away... it is REALLY interesting and great for a 1/2 day excursion.
Cripple Creek is 20 minutes or so down the road. There are multiple casinos here and the town is charming, with lots of history in the area.

Florissant. 2 minutes away and has a general store, a bar, liquor store, gas stations, gun/tackle store, restaurants and post office. You can pretty much get anything you need for a stay at the cabin. There is also a good lumber yard with tools and other supplies in town.
Divide. Divide is 10 minutes away and has a grocery store with some limited produce and other items. A little bigger town than Florissant but not much. From Divide, highway 67 goes N&S.
Woodland Park. Woodland Park is 20 minutes away and has all the amenities including movie theatres, several grocery stores, health care, fine dining, etc.
Colorado Springs. 45 minute drive. Large city with international airport and many attractions.
